Tetris!
on: August 16, 2018, 12:38:32 PM
So I'm going to release an album of my own compositions plus improvisations. Basically all live material, but remastered and with some, ahem, "digital trickery" applied to clean up some untidy bits and get it close to studio level accuracy..

Here's a sneak preview of the final track (live recording, "enhanced")

Very exciting performance!  Effective use of dynamics.  Very acoustical sound environment sounds great to my ear.  Let me know when CD is available.

Thanks!! It's not always easy to make a live recording from the past sound better than it actually is  ;D

Re distribution, I'll get this album out a lot more rapidly than its predecessor (albeit without the professional promo network that went with it) for the simple reason that I'll be self-releasing it through CD Baby and affiliates like Spotify and iTunes - pretty much the route I went down with the initial release of my first disc. At the moment that kinda means it will be digital release only, unless I do a limited print run of CDs.

The fact that this is live makes the performance all the more exciting!  I look forward to getting your new (3rd?) CD.  Thanks.

Yes, live gives a certain energy to the proceedings that hopefully compensates for everything not being absolutely studio pristine! It will be the third CD, of course I've rather complicated the numerology by having one album released in two guises ;)
