off to a good start, could do without the synthetic embellishers (echo/synth) and instead seek to create an interesting/compelling and mysterious sound with manipulation of the volume, touch, and compression here and there of the beat (like harpsicordists do). better separation of texture will help too, ie this is about as good as it can get but it's a great recording to reference for ideas and the standard this can aspire to
