Request for a full piano transcription...
on: December 16, 2018, 02:31:38 PM
Hi guys,

I found a great solo piano transcription by Francis Pitt for the famous Albinoni-Giazotto Adagio in G. The problem is - it's not the full Adagio!

I would absolutely love to have the full version of it.

Any information (or, of course, the sheet music itself) would be very much appreciated!

Thanks so much.
Amit.

I have not downloaded to check, but the tag states 4 pages

Yeah, that's what I have. It's not the full version. The full Adagio is about 9 minutes long (so I'd be expecting about 8-10 pages for the full version)...

You might be surprised at the number of pages expected. This one linked below is an advanced version,  total of 4 pages.  You can ‘look inside’ to compare the two scores

It looks nice. Do you think I can find it for free?

Thanks again!

No, it will not be available for ‘free’ as the copyright for the Adagio is not in the public domain.

One last question, then:

Do you know any sites where I may find free still-under-copyright sheet music?  :) :) :)

Are there such sites / forums?

If music is under copyright, there is no web site or forum that can legally provide them for free as royalties need to be paid

You should go back and read the responses provided the last time you asked for  an illegal copy of copyrighted scores.  Those responses still apply  to this request.  Please stop asking. Either start playing music in the public domain, which are readily available and free, or be willing to pay.

Here are the responses in the link below. Read the links to copyright law

I find it disgusting that in this day and age - people will spend hundreds of dollars on iPad, iWatches and every other cool gadget on the planet, but won't fork over $15 - $20 for sheet music.

It's *** disgusting. And this is coming from a guy who does arrangements of music and gets them published through proper channels.

it's only like 8 bucks, and with a bit of hunting  could probably be found used for half that at used music/book shops, i've paid 20+ times that for a score/score set before, i fail to see how dropping a less than 10 spot is such a deal breaker, if it's a 5 min or longer piece, that's a bargain.

if op has to obtain this and really can't there are legal ways of doing so, talk to the research assistant at the library, get a flexhshare type card that allows guest privileges at other locations, utilize ILL/inter-library loan via home branch/school location, one can easily obtain a lot of scores and resources  to review/learn while borrowed...legally, this way the initial purchase was properly made, and the licensing privileges under which the purchase was made allow for it and it's reason for use checks out ie  allow for that type of personal non commercial activity, ie check it out, learn it, check it back in when done, rinse lather repeat....not that difficult.

Thanks everybody, I'll probably do as Visitor said and look it up in the library.

About it being "fu**ing disgusting" - I find it f**cking disgusting that sheet music cost so much. For me to purchase a PDF file of 6 pages, written by someone who changed his own version on whether or not he even wrote the piece and is now dead for 20 years, for "15-20$" is INSANE. There is literally nothing that's being done, no time wasted, nobody's work, not even materials used, for me to get that PDF. Yet I need to pay 20$ for it? Where I come from, 20$ is a day's pay at a full time job. A law that's not being enforced is not a law at all, and downloading free sheet music from the internet is, therefore, not really illegal, and is being 100% enabled by the government. And the argument that "you can pay 1000$ for an iPad but not 20$ on sheet music is not a valid one, in my opinion, as it is never about the amount of money being paid, but the weighting of the function of the money being paid in comparison to the value of the product. If I'd use your argument, I could turn it against itself: a guy can buy a 300,000$ house but is skimping on a lousy 1000$ for an iPad? It's fu**ing disgusting!

Yeah, we should go back to the good old days, like when attending a soiree, Rossini noticed that the chamber music performed was a piece by his friend Beethoven, (who was just scraping by) when he put out the hat.  'Got Rossini?'
4'33"

SERIOUSLY?!?

That right there says something about your love (or lack of) in music. As Dogperson said - you've been a member for 3 years, and only posted on 2 occasions when you want something.

each and every person in the history of internet forums only posted something when he wanted something. Attention, answers, what have you. I just happen to be more low maintenance than others  :)

It’s good to hear your opinion of those that think they’re motivated by trying to help you. It makes any future request you make easy to dismiss

You think you were low maintenance?  I would strongly disagree with that thought. Your original request was not quite honest, in that you did not Disclose that you were looking for illegal copies of copyrighted material. Therefore time was wasted on your behalf looking for an arrangement that you might like.

No contribution to this forum and a time waster = high maintenance

Yes, but the primary purpose of this forum is for other piano players to help each other out in their technique, technical work and musicality; not begging for stuff you want for free, that isn't free.

I wasn't necessarily looking for illegal sheet music, I just wouldn't mind reverting to it  :) definitely wasn't "begging for" it.

But o.k, I respect your opinion, and it is possible that I've misinterpreted the unwritten rules here.

Thanks anyway.
