Your favorite moments of arpeggiation?
on: January 10, 2019, 01:33:17 AM
From time to time I am particularly fascinated with arpeggios. Of course one of the great masters of composing beautiful and astounding arpeggio passages is Chopin. But I would like to learn of the existence of other great pianistic arpeggio moments, in any style, old or new, that I might be able to track down and hear.

Any recommendations?

Oh yes, my friend, the arpeggio bug is known to bite from time to time, and hard, too!  8)
May I suggest these two to get the thread going?

Very best,

Almost forgot the Chumachenco piano solo arrangement of Orff's "In trutina" from Carmina Burana (starts at 39:12):

Personally, I don't like the piano's sound in this recording that much, and I don't know of any others out there, but even so, those accompaniment arpeggios are just exquisite.

Thank you all for your suggestions -- I especially like the Scriabin stuff, and the Orff.
