Schoenberg 3 Pieces
on: July 01, 2019, 09:20:10 PM
Hey guys,
I've started learning Schoenberg's Drei Klavierstucke. I recorded the first movement and would like your feedback. It's attached as an mp3.

Background info: I'm a complete amateur, 14 years old. I am NOT a professional pianist nor do I participate in big international piano competitions.

Hi Schoenberg.

I know I must have heard these 3 pieces before, but I am not really familiar with them. I know they are early works and are atonal. Also, not having the music in front of me makes this hard for me to evaluate.

Having said that, it appears that you play the first piece exceptionally well!  It sounds right my ear. Can you please let us know the piano and recording equipment used?  The sound quality is also very good to my ear.  Thanks.

Hello, this was recorded at my fancy boarding school(I attend on a sports scholarship).  This piece was recorded in our concert hall, which as amazing acoustics to start with. It was performed on a Steinway Model D I believe and professionally recorded with the equipment at the school(I'm not sure what exactly).

FANTASTIC!  I was amazed at the sound quality and the piano was PERFECTLY in tune, which made me begin to wonder - is this for real?  Well done!
