I am working up a transcription of Dance of the Hours (there is already one, but it's not serious).  This is easy and enjoyable work, are there any other pieces (or movements of pieces) that would do well with a piano transcription?  They don't have to be suitable to direct transcription: paraphrases, variations, 'reminiscences' etc. are all fine.

I was thinking the Can-Can, Scheherazade and the Capriccio Italien were three others, but do people have better suggestions?  Only Romantic pieces, please.

Would love to see the Taneyev Adagio in C Maj get the treatment
