As far as I know Beethoven composed only three Ecossaises:

Ecossaise in G major WoO 23 – You can find this one in most anthologies of beginner’s or children’s piano music, e.g. Lynn Freeman Olson (ed.) – “Essential Keyboard repertory” – vol. I (Alfred)

Ecossaise in Eb major WoO 86 (1825)

These are one-page very easy pieces (grade 1) that Beethoven most likely wrote as pedagogical material for is pupils.

Six Ecossaises in Eb major WoO 83 (1806) – These are actually to be played as a single piece (I believe this is the one xvimbi mentioned but the number he provided is incorrect). This is a two page affair (3 pages  depending on the edition), and more advanced than the other two (around grade 4/5). It sounds far more difficult than it is and Kissin plays it as an encore. (He plays it wonderfully the “Gift of Music” DVD).

You can find both of them in “Beethoven: A book of dances” – Easier piano pieces no. 20 (ABRSM) and also in “Beethoven - Piano pieces” – vol. 2 (Peters).

Best wishes,
Bernhard.

Oh no ??? I was off by one (it was the number to his next work). Shame on me, I should read more carefully!

Piano Street Magazine:
Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
