Man, I hate Ja Rule. Only reason he ever became popular was because he started off emulating DMX.

Ashanti on the other hand....  ;D ;D ;D

If music is to be determined by the responsible behavior of the composers and performers, then there's going to be a huge exodus from the field.  I can't stand most of rap, but I want it to exist.  I want new ideas and relationships to music to be ever present.  It would take a long to time to come up with all the jerks that have ever made music.  I guess I'm a staunch believer in freedom of expression.  Jazz, for instance as a whole genre would not exist if those who were not comfortable with a new sound had had their way.   For one thing, the poor inner city child who has no shot at any cultural exposure can relate to rap.  Maybe, just maybe in trying it, they will move on to other music.  Music has to touch the heart and where it lives.  Rap is a voice for a particular societal experience that isn't very pleasant to hear, but it is real never-the-less.  Just my opinion.
