Chopin - Nocturne Op. 9 no. 2
on: April 06, 2020, 05:55:03 PM
Hey guys, first time posting. I uploaded my rendition of Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 9 no. 2 and would love to get some feedback.

Started playing piano 2 years ago as a hobby (self taught). This was recorded on my home Yamaha piano (which honestly I really dislike, especially after having played on a couple grand Yamahas at my university).

I will also upload a performance on a grand when I get the chance. Apart from some missed/miss-timed bass notes and chords, I feel this performance includes most of what I’m trying to convey with the piece, though some dynamics are missing. Anyways, have a listen and tell me what you think, I would appreciate any criticism/feedback!

Hi mike_h

I'm amazed that you can play it like this after 2 years of 'hobby'-playing! I find it very musical, and as far as I can tell from the recording you are handling the sound of your Yamaha piano really well. Yes, there are some missing dynamics, but you made an exquisite pp towards the end, just to mention one very nice thing that I noticed. Hats off, please post more!

Thanks for your comment! Really appreciate this, especially about the ending!
