A meditation


Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Nice harmonic twists in this. The manner of major/minor changes, almost within the phrase, were reminiscent of some Busoni.

Thanks for listening.  Admittedly, I don't recall consciously thinking of Busoni at the time, but now that you mention it, some of the harmonic progressions do have such flavour.

I listened several times and shall probably listen more. The sentiment is strangely compelling, although I am not driven to analyse why. I haven't heard much Busoni, but I was reminded of certain pieces by Frank Bridge, whose piano music I am very fond of. I have to say that your titles, unlike mine, are well suited to the music in a way the listener is likely to understand. You also use simple means effectively, a trick I have not yet quite mastered.

Thanks for listening, Ted.  I do have to admit, I find titles challenging at times.  Though, I feel that a title can form an additional layer of connection between music and listener.
