The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Yamaha AvantGrand N1

I've been quoted $8800 CAD before tax for Yamaha N1. Retails for 9500.

How much lower do you think I could realistically get in the Toronto suburbs from the official Yamaha dealer?

Also, any N1 comments are most welcome.

Looking for grand action that can be muted for neighbors.  Used to playing a Yamaha grand G3 6'1".

Thanks!

N1 is old model now, replaced by N1X. There is also competition from Kawai called NV10. You can look also for pianos with silent models installed, like used Kawai ATX, and many from other brands. Just remember that Kawai and Yamaha have the most sophisticated silent systems, especially the new ones, but it's twice your budget.

Also, take in mind that Yamaha AvantGrand N series are fully digital pianos.
