Can someone please help to identify this Steinway & Sons Model 40 console piano? The serial number is missing. I believe it was made in the 1940s and may have been rebuilt at some point in its life.

Thanks so much!

Not sure what identification can be provided without the serial number.  Just curious, is ‘Steinway ‘ also on plate?

Look similar to this 1947

Yes, the "Steinway" logo is on the plate. Is there any way to locate the serial number, with the information I currently have? There are some numbers on the plate, but not the serial number.

If you considering buying this piano, you should have it inspected by a piano tech. They can help you find the serial number.  Ditto if it already your piano: when you get it tuned have them look

I don’t know if Steinway can identify the yr of manufacturer with the uxxx part number. Give it a shot.
