“Lacrime” for Piano solo
on: August 12, 2020, 08:36:14 AM
Hi all, here's my last composition:

I’d say rather minimalist, with some tremolo in the middle and fast arpeggios in the ending.

Unfortunately I mess up the tremolo quite a bit in my playing: I wish I were able to play four notes per beat instead of three, and I would have changed a couple of other parts so I guess this is not the final version of this piece, but I'm happy enough with how it came out and I'll possibly change it slightly in the future if I manage to get technically skilled enough.

By tremolo you mean the repeated notes right? Are you using alternating fingerings, 321 or if you want 4 notes then 4321, that might help

Very nice piece. The choice of key and chord progression reminded of a track from the video game "Professor Layton & the Curious Village" titled "The Journey Begins" which I wrote a set of variations on:

Thank you for your comment, and nice playing in your video. Indeed I meant repeated notes, not tremolo. I go 3,2,1 but still have problems,  possibly also because of my digital piano (?), I'll have to practice 4,3,2,1 and try doing that part with four notes per beat instead instead of triplets

Here is a video by Graham Fitch that might help with repeated notes. By the way tremolos can refer to repeated notes as well (like with string instruments).

Hi Kalos piano,

Nice piece - I must that I like the triplet repeated notes, and I am impressed with your playing of them.

I don't think it would make the piece any better if you changed these to sixteenth notes. In fact, you would make it unplayable for everyone but a select few, which would mean that practically nobody except yourself would ever bother to learn to play your piece.
