Help with trilling
on: February 01, 2005, 03:07:31 AM
How does one go about improving the trill? About the only trill I can execute is one which is very loud and unpredictable. Playing a trill in a piece that requires delicate touch (piano) therefore seems just about impossible to me, as I can never seem to play one with the required softness and smoothness.
Any tips or suggestions as to how to improve the trill in general, not only for smooth, reliable executions, but also for touch? Thanks

Chang has some advice, see section III. SELECTED TOPICS IN PIANO PRACTICE.
