The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Have you asked a librarian to help you find a copy that exists in the system? I found that librarians are extremely tenacious when confronted with a problem such as this.

I know it's in the library system somewhere, and when a dyed-in-the-wool bad-a** librarian finds a copy for you, take it to a copy machine. There is no reason, excepting greed, for a 75. -- 90. price. Good luck, it is a book worth having.

What do you think about this book? I have read it and though his analysis is very detailed I did not find much practical use of it.

I've read the book and played the exercises. In my case, it is a help for counting, fingering and reading music.

My favorite music book is The Piano Handbook by Carl Humphries. Basic tutorial, clear examples, simply wonderful. And it lays flat on the work table.
