Haydn Piano Concerto in D Major, Hob. XVIII:11
on: October 26, 2020, 02:53:31 AM
Haydn's Piano Concerto No. 11 in D Major is considered his last work of this type. It is one of several examples of Haydn's fondness of using Hungarian (Gypsy) themes in the closing Rondo. It was very popular in his lifetime and still is today. I have heard it performed live by Mikhail Pletnev and Rudolph Buchbinder.

The orchestra part in this recording is based on a Tomplay recording.

0:00  I.   Vivace
8:00  II.  Un poco adagio
15:14 III. Rondo all'Ungherese. Allegro assai
