Schumann Kreisleriana
on: November 05, 2020, 01:13:20 PM
Hi everyone. Been working on Schumann's Kreisleriana for the past couple months now and have a competition coming up with it in about a week and a half.

Thought I'd post this recording of it I made very recently here - all feedback really appreciated.

Bravo! Superb performance! I really enjoyed this. I have heard many recordings of this piece and I think this one is up there with some big people's. Seriously.

Hello this is beautiful and in all parts as impressive as the recordings of the known great pianists.
Because you have a living, electric, heartfull and emotionell touch when you play piano.
You get very well the basis of Schumanns mood.
To get even better than this you could let go a lot more into the world of Schumanns madness (nymphomania) and if you know such people how they are you see theres no limit in exageratine their feelings with more extatic numbness and often senseless and meaningless hyperactivity  and hyperenergy.
Then its not easy to imagin what it feels like and how to present if a person is like a broken mirror where the nonsense and the fact of being broken into many peaces is a central part of their personality/music.

Dont be afraid to be extreme here, you can be sure that Schumann himself played that music sometimes in such an extreme  way that you would barely recognize it.

Overall with this you could get an even more interesting result than the celebrated pianists everybody knows, good luck.
