Hey people!

Information systems undergrad with some spare time here. I built a ear-training platform originally for some of my friends, but figured - why not share it with more people, get more feedback and make it even better?

Introduction video here:

Where you can find it and try it out:
https://pitchgarden.com

Do give it a try if you are interested and any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

No offense, but there's an app that's done most of what you did but years before you; it's called Tenuto and is far easier on the eyes and has a nicer GUI!!!

It looks like tenuto is only on iOS. I haven't been completely satisfied with any of the apps I've seen so far, so I think there can still be a market for it.

Auralia used to be the big one years and years ago, but since then - there have been few that come close.

Tenuto is the closest - What this app does, is try to catch up to those who have already been.

I'm still not impressed so far with this idea of a potential app.

Teoria is also a website that's been around since 1997 and teaches ear training/solfège along with pretty much all theory. The positive side of your website is that it looks way better than the one I just mentioned, so there's that!

Inventing a great product isn't "how to make something completely new", but how to build on something that is already there, but more efficient, likeable, full of correct knowledge, and most importantly, UX-friendly. So if you manage to do that, I'll use it.

Also a degree in IT/Web/Programming here. Hi there! :D

Good stuff. It might be interesting to have a virtual piano keyboard to click on. I'm pretty sure I'm better at reproducing a sequence of notes with the keyboard to look at rather than giving a note name. Also, it's odd that the correct choice of chord sequence on song tests just goes green, where the other tests give a tick. I had to deliberately choose a wrong answer to discover that it goes red and the correct one goes green.

If you wanted long-term development of the app, you could include training on various other instruments. All the best, John.
Sorry if I don't reply for a while - I'm not getting notifications from this site.
