Mr. Viner - If you'd like to introduce music that you find interesting and in the reach of intermediate students, please go ahead. But kindly do it without trashing music that others might like to play, just because you personally heard it too much, or think it's "overplayed" (whatever that means - to a learner).
Fuer Elise is one of the first pieces I ever learned to play - simply because it happened to be in some passed on sheet music. I had no idea it was "popular", that "anyone else/most people" played it. It sounded nice. Why should others be deprived of that just because you have heard it too much? Or why should a student be deprived of it because the teacher has heard it too much? Come on already.
I have no idea what "Fir-Eleess" is supposed to be. Do you mean this?
I'm not usually critical of mispronunciation, but since you are critical of music some of us might enjoy, why not?
