Baldwin ConcertMaster vs Yamaha Disklavier
on: April 15, 2003, 05:41:40 AM
I have narrowed my search down to 2 pianos.  Baldwin and Yamaha have made the cut, and both have their version of a player system.  I perfer a more full and rich tone, as opposed to a brighter tone - which is why I am looking at the Conservatory line of Yamaha.  I hope to get a 5'8, but my budget may dictate a 5'2.  I am getting conflicting info from the dealers and I am VERY confused!  I am also getting different stories about the finishes (I want Ebony) and they are telling me different things about the high polish and satin finishes.  I don't know what to believe.  Can anyone help???

According to Larry Fine, the disklavier is the best system.  Seems that if you like the Yamaha, then you would have an easy choice.  In my own review of these, my only question was the Disklavier vs. the PRO yamaha player.  After playing the same piece on both systems, I could notice that the PRO unit replayed the piece with more precision than the disklavier.  Not that the disklavier did a really bad job....
