The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Snow melting upon snow

Might not be spring yet, just a small break from the cold.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I really like the limpid sound you're getting here. Once again I find parts quite Scriabinesque.

Thanks for listening ronde.

I'm still working at fine tuning the recorded sound towards getting the balance between articulated speech and fullness of tone.  Yes, I did have some Scriabin harmonies in mind when playing this.

Very creative I like how you maintained the intervals in the RH throughout which draws me into this cold world. The more chaotic parts makes me think of shards of ice cracking and splintering and some of the calmer parts are the water droplets gathering and dripping.

Thanks for listening lost.

I enjoy hearing about the imagery and stories that people create from my improvisations.

Certainly a splendidly articulated little piece. I see the melting snow as a metaphor for the mind's desperate desire for small signs of promise that the present frozen horror and stupidity in the world will melt into a springtime of unified purpose and enlightenment, but I am not holding my breath.
