Melodia Triste

"Sad Melody", one of my most recent compositions, supposed to be part of a set of pieces which are still more or less work in progress. First felt inspired to compose this after improvising something on my keyboard while trying to imitate Mompou's style. Experimented a bit with chord inversions, tensions, extensions, secondary dominants, tritone jumps and subs: this is the final result, here probably played a bit faster than I should have, also messed up the pedaling on the low notes, but I hope the sense of the piece is transmitted well enough.

Very nice composition! I think it's a successful little piece  :D please post the whole set when you're done!

Thank you so much Lelle for your kind feedback.
The second piece of the set is already written and is only missing the recording, so should arrive soon.
The other pieces will take way longer :)
