last art inspired improvs (Klimt and Munch)
on: June 15, 2021, 09:30:55 AM
Two very different improvisations on two opposite themes.

First one: tentative of a musical description of a kiss, more specifically the one immortalized by Gustav Klimt... A bit too many "collecting thoughts" pauses unfortunately...

Second one: musical representation of a scream, more specifically the one depicted in Munch's famous painting.

Great stuff!

The first one is quite impressionistic.  A sweet melody surrounded by sweeping chords for colour and shape.  I like the balance you struck between what was a clearly defined melody and pianistic brushstrokes that create mood and form context.

The second piece, I feel you illustrate the event and the thoughts that were the cause of the scream.  We don't know what the person in the painting witnessed, but we can artfully conjure up ideas as you have done here.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
