Edinburgh Fringe recital
on: July 17, 2021, 09:19:26 PM
I have arranged a recital for next month:

https://www.stagw.org.uk/event/a-night-at-the-opera/

Tickets will be soon available from the Fringe box office and, for those who wish to purchase on the day, tickets will be available at the door (card sales only, I believe).

and let's hope that ongoing world events do not prove too disruptive; the official venue capacity is a bit unclear atm due to ongoing restrictions.

Set list

• Wagner-Liszt - Fantasy on Themes from Rienzi
• Mascagni-Anschutz Intermezzo from Cavalliera Rusticana
• Wagner-Liszt - Isolde’s Liebestod
• Bellini-Jaell - Reminiscences de Norma
• Wagner-Liszt - O du, mein holder Abendstern
• Rossini-Thalberg - Dal tuo stellato soglio
• Wright - Sonata improvvisata

Approximately an hour's playing time.

Here is a little sneak preview of some of the less well known material I will be performing:

Coda of the Jaell fantasy

Abendstern (live recording)

Conclusion of the sonata (as originally improvised live - it will be interesting to get to perform the "enhanced", edited version)

Thanks. I should be able to have this recorded, but of course there are lots of uncertainties at this point in time.

Just a little reminder in case anyone from the UK is reading this and likely to be in Edinburgh this Saturday. 1630 start. The venue is close to the main railway station:
