on: August 01, 2021, 11:59:59 AM
Hi guys,

I tried to make a piano piece in one day. I highly recommend it as an exercise.

hello,
a great exercise to get complete creativity is this. Create one work every day for a year no matter how long it is.
I did this with drawing and poetry and after one year you have both hands in the eternal river of creativity and you can directly and in real time reproduce the creative flow in your mind which gets flowing much stronger as well without interruptions.
It will get as natural as creative speaking, as easy.
The same with music, only with music I didnt do it yet cause I dont have an own piano.
Good luck everyone.

yes absolutely its more than worth the effort.
Only in the begin it can be hard and take some time but quickly you get more and more efficient and fast in doing your daily creative moment.
Its like exercise your body for hard work or any other effort, only really works if you do it every day. There as well the suffering is only in the begin the first days maybe weeks but then you get really good.

This is a great idea and exercise.  I think you came up with good ideas in this piece.

Actually there is an exercise in photography called the 365 project, where you must make a photograph every day for a year.  I think it is very much applicable to other arts disciplines and music as well.

It focuses the mind getting into a creative framework.  One learns to set reasonable goals that are achievable in short periods of time.  One learns to manage work time better.  One learns to think creatively because doing the same thing every day can become mundane.  One learns how to create even on the bad days when you don't feel like creating.

For music, where projects typically span multiple days, even weeks or months, one can look at working on small scale projects.  One can learn how much work is reasonable to undertake in a day.  Also a bunch of small scale projects can be put together as a larger scale project.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
