CASIO CDP-130 only 48 polyphony
on: September 23, 2021, 03:53:37 PM
Hi all,
I am new to this forum, nice to be here
i am an adult beginner who want to play classical music on the piano.
My question is:
Will I be able to play classical music with my CASIO CDP-130 which has only 48 polyphony?

What do you mean, 48 polyphony? Are you talking about instrument sounds? To learn piano, I'd say you only need a good piano sound

48 polyphony is quite poor, it is the maximum number of notes that a keybord can sound simultaneously. If you play with a lot of sustain pedal you will hear notes instantly vanish unnaturally as you add more notes. If you don't use a lot of sustain pedal you won't notice it. Aim for polyphony around 128 and more it should suffice.
