ok i just skipped my way through it, and on 1st impression-
perl's performances are good, but not too amazing on 1st impression
hewitt's performance is what i expected - really good for what it is, but i prefer the masculine 'strong' style of a pogorelich
all the visuals are really good, each piece is often performed in different settings, with different lightings to suit the mood of the piece - sad pieces are in dark blue rooms, and flashy pieces are in bright rooms, its all quite beautiful to watch
the sound is good, but perhaps a little 'boxed' on some settings, maybe its just my headphones though.
now the really special thing was the kempf etudes - really great performances
i especially enjoyed his octave etude - possibly the fastest sustained octave passages ive seen on film!
all in all, great stuff, and even if they all arent the greatest performances ever, its refreshing to see them on dvd, im very satisfieed with my purchase!
