Richard Wagner's piano music is made up of three piano sonatas and some other random works like albumleaves and a fantasy. He also made the piano reduction of the entire Tannhauser score (except for vocals) and all of Beethoven's 9th symphony, which pre-dated Liszt's arrangement.

The "two" sonatas are ones in B-flat and A major, and they were works he wrote for someone who asked him to write very standard, basic sonatas. Wagner modeled them after Pleyel and early Beethoven, though the sonatas fall short of both those composers. The third sonata he wrote for a friend's piano collection, it's a nine-page single movement that is actually pretty good. No pyrotechnics or anything, just good 1850's Wagner harmonies and plenty of changes in texture.

But no, I don't know of any recordings of his stuff.

I collected it just because..... it is wagner piano music.

Not too great though....

that's wagner's theme transcribed by others
not wagner itself

just like Tannashuer transcriptions doens't count as Wagner piano music.

no, but i adore his rach, i got his etude tableaux cd recorded early in his career - amazing

the brahms on that DVD is also incredible, he brings so much emotion!

and if youve read interviews with him it reveals he is deeply emotional about music , and considers emotion the most important factor in a great performance.

thats what i like to hear!
