Hello! It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but I'm back in need of some help. I decided to take up Chopin's sonata no. 2 (Absolute favorite composition) in my spare practice time, the first movement. It's above my skill level a fair amount and thus I don't intend to make it performance-ready anytime soon, this is just for my own enjoyment.
In the exposition, there are a number of reaches in the left hand that I am finding very, very awkward and uncomfortable. My hand is large enough to reach from C to E (tenth) and so there's nothing impossible or painful or anything, but some of the stretches just annoy me and I am wondering how to speed them up and hopefully find them more comfortable and natural. Examples: The C-Eb/Gb-A&Eb pattern on measures 13-15, the F-Bb-F-Bb (fingered 5-4-2-1)pattern on measures 25 and 26, and the G-Eb stretch on measure 38. I figure that the honest answer might be I need to just gain more finger endurance/experience with time, but any short term suggestions help immensely. TYSM!
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. It's solid advice tbh.
