From Classical to Jazz
on: February 25, 2022, 03:03:15 AM
Any thoughts on classical pianists switching to/ playing jazz music? The best I've seen are Thibaudet and Previn. Is it an abomination or does it inspire you? Thoughts anyone?

Why not? People can do whatever they want IMO
(As long as they don't seek to hurt other people of course)

Hello. I am electrodoc and I have been away from Piano Street for a long, long time. I am 78 years old and still managing to stand upright!
I felt that I had to reply to this post. Andre Previn, in fact, moved from jazz to classical. His earlier recordings were with the Andre Previn trio.
