I'm wondering what your own relationship to these masterclasses might be.  I see that your only posts over the years both here and in PianoWorld have only been posts about these classes.

I have just begun studying Feuchtwanger's material, having gotten the book and CD, after conversations with someone who knew a great deal about it who is also on standby for questions.

One thing that surprised me in the bio on the site is that it left out what seems to have been the most significant part of Mr. F's background: the period where he was forced to teach himself, and the unique perspective that this gave him on technique, which then allowed him to help pianists with technical problems which I guess were often due to how piano was taught.  The people listed who influenced him had a significant impact, but the earlier background would have a major role.

The idea of a masterclass leaves me with mixed feelings.  If it creates curiosity and then proper study, then a good thing.  But, for example, I saw the Feuchtwanger exercises demonstrated on line, and it reduced the concept into a series of motions to be done - and would miss the entire point.  In the little bit that I've managed to read just in the book, my impression is that one could go through the motions of 13 (?) exercises and miss the essence of it.

The event is in Germany.   The majority of people here do not live in Germany, or in that town.  Is the masterclass also accessible remotely / does it get filmed for viewing after the fact?  Otherwise you're announcing that only a fraction of anyone could be involved in.

So I guess this is not a discussion forum, but an "announcement" forum.

What else would you expect from someone who has posted only twice in a 6 year period??? I doubt he's the 'chatty' type.

I figured.  But otoh, he didn't get a response the last time so I took a gamble.
