Favorite - NOT SO FAMOUS - Beethoven piano sonata

What is your favorite Beethoven piano sonata excluding the following list?

Moonlight
Appassionata
Tempest
Waldstein
Pastoral
Les Adieux

Op.111

Unfortunately, i do not own a complete recording of the 32 piano sonatas (they are expensive), so i have not listened to ALL of them...

Well, yes, the Pastoral has a name and all, but I think its symphony namesake is more popular than the piano sonata.  I don't think the latter is nearly as "famous" as the other sonatas with names.  In fact, I think Op. 10 No. 3 is more famous than the Pastoral.

Sonata #24 in F# (Op. 78)
Sonata #25 in G (Op. 79) -- perhaps more of a sonatina, but quite lovely I think.
Sonata #11 in B flat (Op. 22)
Sonata #12 in A flat (Op. 26)

These are all awesome!

I think the E major op 109 is amazing, especially the breathtaking 2nd movement. It seems like Beethoven was trying a lot of new things in that sonata, developing the music in new and fascinating ways.

op 7 and op 27 n1 are definately my favs

the 1st, it shows beethoven's earliest raw fury.

the finale is very inspired especially, a great show off for the left hand because it should be played AFAP in my opinion

I'm playing #24 in F-sharp Major, op. 78 right now. It's really good, it has a lot of the characteristics of the other late-middle sonatas, it's just shorter.

With all due respect, doesn't Prestissimo by defination, mean as fast as possible, so, of course, it should be played AFAP??

I also love this sonata, it is another fav:) Actually being honest, they are all good!!

Op. 2 no. 1, Op. 2 no. 3 (the expansion of sonata form so early in his set of sonatas really strikes me.  It's like he took a leap after the second sonata...it's quite something to listen to Op. 2 in order just for the shock of the third sonata).  Op. 31, no. 3 "The Hunt" according to some and Op. 90 (my  personal favorite).

Yeah I also love op. 2 no. 3  It's definitely one of the more difficult ones, at least of the early sonatas, but worth learning it.
