Schubert in a Lisbon dive bar
on: October 07, 2022, 05:38:18 PM
I got back from Portugal this week and wanted to share this lovely "interpretation" of the Andante con moto from Franz Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2. It was recorded at Tejo Bar in Lisbon on my phone. I didn't catch the oboist's name but the first guitar (along with additional mouth-trumpeting) was by owner John Luz.
I'm always interested in new interpretations of my favorite pieces, and the second movement of this trio has long been one of them. What you hear at the end is the traditional way of applauding at Tejo Bar, which is where you rasp your hands together instead of clapping. Hope you all enjoy.
