liszt, villa lobos, reger...
on: February 15, 2005, 02:51:39 AM
hey, im putting together a few pieces...
I have almost finished VILLA LOBOS- POEMA SINGELO... who knows this piece, I need a few more weeks of hard work to have it done. Being that im not out of school until may, I think a june deadline for myself is gonna be pretty comfortable to have it all up to speed and well played...
now, im picking a few other pieces:
I want to start one long project, which Ive chosen LISZT trancendental n8
Ive also decided to work on the Prelude to BACHIANAS n4 (VILLA LOBOS)
and the first page complete theme to the BACH VARIATIONS, REGER (I just really love this page, and would not be able to play the whole thing for a few more years)...
any other ideas of things along these lines?
anybody work on these pieces?
any comments???
thanks

i believe koji has worked on that piece and described it as among the most difficult and time consuming works he has ever worked on, i think.

I played the Preludio to the Bachianas No. 4, many, many years ago. It was one of my absolute favorite pieces. The melody is absolutely beautiful and it builds very gradually to a huge climax.

Well I can comment on the preludes to the Bachianas - it was my first piece ever, its really easy and thus you can do whatever you want, musically - what I did was, when the thing was finished, I invited a violinist friend of mine to play the Rh at points, Lh at others, he kinda improvised the second theme melody while I was playing the first and It was completely amazing. One of my most remarkable spontaneous moments in music ever
have fun!
