Fingering advice Chopin Sonata 3
on: November 17, 2022, 08:02:38 AM
Does anyone have a suggestion for fingering the RH chromatic run down in 4ths on the second page? Just cannot find a solution to getting this fast/fluid (other than working on my technique of course!)

My edition suggests 52 41 31 52 41 31 etc etc. What do you have in yours?

My Schirmer edition gives 52 41 52 - 52 - 52 - 52 - 52

I use 52 41 31 52 52 41 52 41 31 52 41....but still find too much wrist movement in the last few 4ths - the pros just don't seem to move their wrist at all!

I would not be so sure the wrist movement happens due to the fingering. You should be able to move your fingers more and wrists less and get a smoother result. Requires that you are supple and efficient.
