I'm interested in Glass.  How much piano music has he written?

Liszt1022, how are you handling the page turns? :)

Does anyone know specifically about the patterns he uses?  Something a laymusician could understand?

I know he uses or has used Indian rhythms, but I haven't had anyone explain exactly what that is in his music.

I like the hypnotic feel, the simple repetition, notes and chord progressions.  It's like one moment stretched out.  Music you don't have to hit 'repeat' on the cd player.

I would be interested in finding out what the underlying patterns are though.

Well, this isn't actually music I'd consider performing. It's meditation for the performer and music to relax to/read by for the listener. but I think it's great.

There's a CD out of him playing solo piano music, called "Solo Piano." it has pieces called "Metamorphosis"  (#s 1-5) after the Kafka story, a piece called Wichita Vortex Sutra, after a poem of that name, and my favorite (which is also the longest) Mad Rush, written for an American appearance of the Dalai Lama.

then there's a CD of his etudes, which I haven't heard, and some other things of his have been arranged for piano.

"Mad Rush" is 19 pages long with many repeats, but to be honest, I didn't know it existed until yesterday, and I've since played it through from memory.
