Should I practice when having headaches?
on: January 07, 2023, 10:35:01 AM
Hi guys. I have some trouble making decisions now. Sorry for troubling you guys, can you help me?

Apparently I have a headache due to period and after vaccination, and I am wondering whether I should practice today or just rest and do some rhythmic exercises. I've tried taking a nap but I still feel my headache is there.

Should I just rest today and do rhythmic exercises instead? Any advice?

Cut yourself some slack. Take a day off and practice when your headache is over.

Your life isn't over if you skip a few days of practice. I just skipped several weeks of practice due to an injury to my arm, and while it does show initially, playing some Hanon smoothed out all the growing deficiencies that might have built up over that time. It's all right to skip practice sometimes, just not all the time.

Gosh.

Why would you practice piano if you're not feeling well? That's just being a masochist.
