Liszt’s Eroica - How to play?
on: February 03, 2023, 03:15:49 AM
Hey guys, I’ve been learning a few of Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes, and I’m having quite a bit of trouble with one in particular, the Eroica. It’s not the runs I can’t do, nor the polyphonic texture. Rather, the only part I can’t play is the ‘con bravura’ octave runs. I tend to miss notes a lot even though I spend hours practicing those octaves. Can someone help me with my octave technique so that I can better my performance skills?
Much appreciated,
Danesi

Play piano. It is groovy!
Bach-Busoni > Bach-Brahms
Liszt: Transcendental Etude No. 7 S. 139 in E-flat Major

It's difficult to give specific advice without seeing you play. Wrong notes are usually due to inefficient technique/tension. Can you post a video?
