A modal, melodic toccata in 7/4
on: February 15, 2023, 02:08:36 AM
Here is my latest composition, a kind of simple toccata in 7/4, with a constantly repeated bass motive (which becomes more apparent as the work progresses):

It is written as a kind of spiritual invocation, on the occasion of the publication of my new book, "Imperatrix Aeterna: Magical Stories of the Queen of Heaven," and is intended to capture something of a feeling of peace and wonder, combined with celestial longing. I'm not sure if it comes through, though......

Hope you enjoy!

I enjoyed it, like I have enjoyed the other things you've posted here that I've listened to. It has a nice, kaleidoscopic feeling to it.

Though a complete atheist myself, I often enjoy spiritually inspired music. I like to think we are all ultimately looking for the same things, we just go about it different ways.

I hope you can get a better mic at some point, your music deserves to be heard in higher sound quality :)

Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, for sure, all musicians are seeking for this mysterious and elusive spiritual goal- which somehow goes beyond whatever words or creeds we may use to name- whether love, or faith, or beauty, or whatever, or even if it has no name at all
