The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

It's very hard playing with an almost pre-sec Orchestral backing track, isn't it - especially with such a very almost improvisatory piece like the Larghetto.

You did a good job though. Lots of finesse with your playing, and a couple of moments where I think you got just a little stuck or hesitant and then had to catch up with the video, but you maintained your composure.

I think my main concern is really master those little semiquaver and demisemiquaver runs (whether they're scalic or arpeggio) so you feel really confident. The rest you know and can play well, but those little runs just need a little more muscle memory, me thinks.

Any plans on doing the same for the first or third movements?

Thanks. Yes the Orchestral Backing track is not very easy. I plan to record Ballad 1, and then the first mvt of Concerto 1 E minor.

Thanks for your right feedback :)

Olivier
