Jazz Improvisation Advice
on: July 11, 2023, 08:26:53 PM
Hi
I'm interested in getting better at jazz improvisation.
(Well, when I say
better
, I mean that I have no experience and don't know where to start
)
If you have any knowledge/ experience with this kind of thing, could you give me some advice on where/ how to start and improve?

Try looking up Jonny May. He has a website dedicated to it.

I could direct you straight to my learn jazz piano online video course but I would also advise the following:
Know your major and minor scales.
Learn to read at least the treble clef.
Get a basic understanding of 4-note chords such as Cmaj7: C+E+G+B, C7: C+E+G+Bb.
Start listening to some jazz players that play in a way you can follow (Horace Silver).
