Who cares about the fastest recordings... some of the best recordings aren't the fastest. They're the ones that were fully realised by the performer to bring out the most intense of emotional reactions from the listener.

Khatia Buniatishvili again playing the last movement at 14:50. Sadly I don't think her chosen tempo does the music any favors.

suprised no one has said this but richter 10/4 and you know the majority of the glenn gould recordings.

Never heard the richter 10/4 recording but the 2nd section of his ballade #2 recording is insane

I'd add Schnabel ... sometimes speed really is part of what makes his Beethoven sonata recordings so magical despite the mistakes.
