Lack of a sustain pedal
on: November 20, 2023, 12:41:30 PM
How should I practice my pedal working, the piano at my house is an electric one with a sustain pedal
I’m learning pieces like Wilde Jagd, Ballade no 1 and Le Gibet that require pedal.
How should I practice pedal work so when I play on one that doesn’t, I don’t fumble?

Typically, no instrument you'd be performing on would lack a pedal. I can't really imagine how you'd practice your pedal work without a pedal.
Practice without pedal can be profitable however. Without pedal, you can't hide uneveness in the pedal resonance. You'll certainly hear how you're doing for better or for worse.
