“Les fées sont d'exquises danseuses“

Is it just me or Debussy’s “ Les fées sont d'exquises danseuses” sounds similar to Ravel’s Ondine?

It certainly sounds Ravellian imo

Neither of these pieces would exist had Debussy and Ravel not studied Liszt. But to me they did very different things with that toolbox, and Ravel perhaps relied on it more heavily than Debussy.

100%, Liszt did a lot in inventing Impressionism which his “ Les jeux d'eaux à la Villa d'Este”
