I sorted the performance board on the last post field in reverse chronological order. It shows a post that started 5/19/2002. EDIT: Teaching board shows a post that started on 1/28/02. We are getting close to the start here I'm guessing.Shopperapproved.com says:Piano Street is a website promoting classical piano music. It started out in 2001 as "Piano Forum", a discussion board for pianists, teachers and piano students, but has now expanded to include a piano sheet music and recordings library.
According to ICANN registration records, pianostreet.com domain was registered January 8, 2003. The site might exist under a different name before that though.
I was able to find a post from Sept 20 2001, which is an actually surprisingly long time ago
Interesting. If you or someone else believe they found the first post made to this forum, maybe you can provide a link to it here. It would be interesting to read the first post.
Earliest I could find is sept 20, 2001: https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?topic=1.0
That's correct! Piano Forum was started in September 2001 on the domain pianoforum.net and was moved over to the domain pianostreet.com in June 2005.Well done, you have found the first Piano Forum-topic!It is like traveling back in time to read these old posts from the early ages of the Internet's "Web 2.0" era. While the recommendation to use Netscape Navigator 4 is a bit outdated, the very first piano related topic is still interesting and relevant reading in our digital age:https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?topic=3
