Yeah!

Like a question and a few possible answers. And boxes next to them for you to check.
Then a graph can be done to see the result.

Maybe there could be a place where we could submit questions for the poll?

Ok,
Natasha:
These can be any questions from "favourite Concerto" to "How long do you practice?".

Amee:
I was thinking maybe besides writing topics, as we always do, we can post polls as well. There isn't like a special place, just a label next to the title saying "a Poll" or something.

And these should go under the apropriate board: Student corner, Repertoire, and so on...

just a thought.... :D

"What's wrong with asking a question then people post a reply?  Thats what most subjects are like anyway."

Natasha, isn't that just like a message board?  What would be the difference between a poll and a message board if we did it that way?

Just wondering...

Ok there is a question.

and there are say, 5 choices. Next to them are boxes for you to tick. Then you submit it. and somehow or rather the program that runs PF can make up a chart when there are enough votes.

natasha:

the one who does the program is the webmaster. but if you are referring to what, it's some script, HTML and Java, etc... you know all those computer programming.  ;D just like that. don't worry, you won't have to learn that if the webmaster has fixed it for us! just probably a form, like when you reply to a topic,

Subject:
Message Icon:

--stuff like that.

if the webmaster has fixed it we can just click a link to make a poll and something similar will appear like here's an example:

Question: (e.g. How often do you practice?)
Number of Choices: (e.g. 5)
Choice 1:
Choice 2:
etc.

then after you make the poll here's how it works.

Poll: How often do you practice?
o -5 hours and up
o -3-4 hrs
o -1-2 hrs
o -less than an hour
o -who care's about practicing?

 submit

*** o represents a choice circle, so you just click one of them and press submit button***

then a graph appears:

Total Votes: 346
5 hours and up ----------60%
3-4 hrs              ------30%
1-2 hrs              --5%
who care's about practicing? 0%

just like that... I hope you get it! :D :D :D

A poll organized just like what Chopinetta said would be great!

Hello all,

Before I found this thread on polls, I'd already posted a survey at the Student's corner, trying to find out how many hours good pianists have put it before they attained a high level of skill.  Have a look at this, if you'd like to add your thoughts on the matter!

Yours,
Eric Nolte

I think polls are a great idea - the only ones I know of are on www.prokofiev.org
They would be a very interesting addition to this site
