I have played only two, but they were very nice.  My favorite one was from the 1920's I think, about 220 cm (a little over 7').  The touch was thick and yummy and the sound rich and not piercing at all.

I hear they make good rebuilt pianos.  The ones I played were well kept but in original condition.

If you are buying a new one, make sure you know where it was made, as many of these old brands have been bought out by Asian companies and slapped onto a piano that has little to do with its older brethren (Knabe, for example).  Not that there is anything wrong with Asian pianos; just make sure you know you are buying German if that is what you want.
Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)

I've only played on one Ibach, but I absolutely loved the experience! Sound was wonderful, I loved the key action, I wasn't accustomed to the shallower key depth, however, so that took some getting used to, but I would love to own one one day.

Ibach is the oldest piano manufacturer today.  They build many fine instruments.  A Korean company bought them not too long ago with the intent of building a high line in Germany with the aid of the Koreans and a lower line in Korea with the aid of the Germans.  Most likely they won't be like they once were.

I have 7 foot Ibach in the store from 1890.  Hoping to find someone who would like to rebuild it.  Has a neat plate.
