Can you store a grand piano on its side?
on: May 30, 2024, 05:41:21 AM
Hello, I bought a new piano, and the music store said they would store it for me in a climate controlled room until I can take delivery, which depended on modifying my house. It's been 6 months, and I'll be able to take delivery soon. But I found out they've been storing the piano (a 7-foot Kawai GX6) on its side for the entire 6 months. This worries me very much - would storing the piano on its side harm it?

All grands are moved on their side.
If there was no abuse it should be fine IMO. Inspection would not hurt though.
