Distance measurements and knee room
on: July 04, 2024, 08:38:18 PM
Hi,
I have an issue with a rather cramped amount of knee room (see attached pic).
The problem seems to be that the stand takes up about 10cm of height below the base of my stage piano.
I have developed some wrist problems when playing frequently, which I try to solve by proper alignment, but, due to the low underside, it's difficult to sit high enough. I can just about do it with all the cushions but if I slouch in any way, it feels a bit low (hands don't "fall" to the keys).
I wondered about ordering a new stand, to deal with the lack of room underneath. If someone has an understanding of this problem, suggestions would be welcome
By the way, I have ordered a new adjustable stool, which will hopefully avoid the need for an excessive amount of cushioning to raise the height.
