Is Rachmaninoff Concerto #2 or #3 harder?

3... much harder. If you were a professional pianist, I'm sure even you could have worked that out yourself by having a look at the music.

I've looked at both... fiddled about with 2 - it's manageable, but 3 is ridiculously hard in terms of its complexities.

Also, why did you feel compelled to post the exact same thing, word for word in 4 different areas of the forum???

I ask not because I don't have my own opinion, but rather to learn what others think. I indeed am a professional pianist and also have heard interesting points of views from other professional pianists saying things like "Rach 3 is really not all that much harder than Rach 2--it just is more complex" etc.

I appreciate that perspective. That makes sense!

PS: I made a post in different sub forums assuming different people viewed different sub forums... if it is true everyone sees all sub forums, that would make sense to delete the duplicates. How do I delete a post I made? I can't find a delete button for my posts.

But by its definition - if people say Rach 3 is more complex than Rach 2... then it must logically be harder if they are saying it's more complex.

Complex infers difficulty. Trust me - Rach 3 is definitely harder.

There unfortunately isn't a direct delete button. Instead, hit "report to moderator" for any posts you want removed and explain why you want them removed. If there's a good reason (which there certainly is in your case), admin will handle it within a few days.

I think it helps to modify the post first - - remove all the text - - leave a few spaces or punctuation marks if it requires you to ...  Also change the title to "please delete", or something - - then when the moderators see it, it's quick, and they don't have to think about it.  They can be pretty slow sometimes.
